Artist life story in a nutshell
What made me?
Well, besides my parents that is. Mom and Dad are Loris Noreen Wolverton and Loren Reed Nelsen. They were two mid west teens, From North Platte Nebraska, that married young and had 3 kids by the time they were in their early 20's. Two more arrived shortly thereafter, all girls. After five girls and just as my mother was due to have a hysterectomy along came that Boy!
My name is Cindy Watson, Cynthia Ann Nelsen Watson to be more precise. I live is Southern California, and have since my family relocated to Santa Ana, California, back when it was strawberry fields and bean fields. My first memory in life? Well, it was being terrified, I suspect my name was called, I looked and was blinded by the light. I have no way to confirm the memory but I believe it was when I was learning to walk and Mom had to have a picture, I bet she had to change my diaper after that. My second memory of life came as we arrived at our new home on Towner, and at age two. I was swept away when I walked through the door of our rented home, as my mother drew back the curtains the living room was flooded with light reflecting off a huge mirror over the fireplace, filling every corner and me with awe. Perhaps that is why I so enjoy paintings and photos of light.
Growing up a middle child was not alway easy. The blame was passed down to me way to often when others said they hadn't done it. I felt lonely in a crowded room, seeking attention I become a loud child but rarely was heard. I became an over achiever trying to gain approval
I left home at fifteen had my own apartment not long after lying about my age having a job I hitchhiked to and from work. So much more to the story but you will have to buy the book to find out lol if i ever share it with anyone.
Married 32year, Christmas 2009, I met Donald 3 month before we wed and started dating 3 weeks before we wed, after he barely met all my family except my Mom on Christmas Day 1977. We left the family and were married at 2:00 a.m. in a garage in Riverside.
Thirty one years later and we currently live in the Pass area of Beaumont California, after leaving Yucaipa Valley where My husband Donald and I lived some 25 years. The beauty of where I live, means that I can drive and hour any direction to the beach, or up two different mountain ranges and the desert is straight out the I10. Reality is all I have to due is look out the door and see a beautiful sunrise in the Banning Pass. I am looking forward to tomorrow's sunrise.
